《中国佬》采用特有的六层蛋糕的文体结构,将中西方流传的历史故事和神话传说与早期华裔的经历相结合,将多重叙述声音穿插于多种文学文本中。叙述者不断变换叙述时间,通过多样的身份、从不同的角度以变化的口吻来述说故事。根据文本的需要,主要体现为第一人称与全知视角的转换,还有全知视角与内视角的转换。揭露了早期华裔的真实命运,消除了小说的历史权威性,打击了美国话语霸权,能激发读者深刻反思历史。

China Men adopts a unique six-layered structure to combines the historical stories and myths spread in China and the west with the experiences of early Chinese Americans,and intersperse multiple narrative voices in various literary texts. The narrator constantly changes his narrative time and tells the story in a changing tone through various identities and perspectives. According to the needs of the text,it is mainly reflected in the transformation of the first person and omniscient perspective,as well as the transformation of omniscient perspective and internal perspective. It reveals the real fate of the early Chinese Americans,eliminates the historical authority of the novel,strikes at the discourse hegemony of the United States,and inspires readers to reflect on the history deeply.
